Dermot started his career as an insurance broker in 1988.  He has gained his wealth of experience predominantly with international brokerages such as Sedgwick Dineen/Marsh, JLT and most recently, as a Director with Alexander Forbes, with full responsibility for the Republic of Ireland operation.  He joined BMCI in January 2006 as a senior executive and led the successful MBO of the firm in 2010.  His areas of expertise include Marine (Hull & Cargo), Property and Financial Risks.

Dermot is an avid sports fan, with soccer being to the fore. He supports The Arsenal and Rep of Ireland with varying levels of frustration. He is a qualified soccer coach, holding a UEFA B licence.  The St Kevins Boys 1st Team squad currently enjoy the benefit of his skills and guidance.  Married to Anita with three boys, David, Sean & Matthew.

Luke joined BMCI in March 2012 and has over 10 years commercial broking experience. Luke moved to Ireland in 2010 - working for Power Lynch & Associates Limited - and prior to that he had been working in the London insurance market for both Lockton Companies LLP and the Heath Lambert Group (now Gallagher Heath).
           
Luke's career to date has focused on accounts predominantly positioned within the Real Estate and Construction sectors, with his corporate clients ranging from FTSE listed companies, high street retailers and managing agents. Luke also has significant experience in placing self storage risks, hotel risks and excess casualty insurance programmes.

Luke will utilise his experience to develop business for BMCI within both the corporate and SME sectors.

Karina joined BMCI in 2002 having spent her early years in a major national brokerage. In addition to managing her own portfolio of clients, Karina supports both Dermot and Helen with the development of new and existing Commercial Lines Clients.

Karina's responsibilities also extend to include the monthly reconciliation of insurer accounts.

James has worked at BMCI for the last 18 months having previously lived in London where he worked in the insurance industry for 14 years.
 

James spent the early stages of his career at both Aon and Heath Lambert. Prior to joining BMCI, James managed a portfolio of High Net Worth and Corporate Clients. His role at BMCI is managing the existing portfolios for both private and corporate clients and the development of both.

Outside of work James is an avid Liverpool fan and his time is kept busy with his two young sons aged 1 and 3.

James Conlon

James Osborne is a Consultant with A&L Goodbody. James was educated at Campbell College, Belfast and Trinity College, Dublin. He qualified as a solicitor in 1973 and joined A&L Goodbody. He opened the Firm’s New York office in 1979 and spent two years there. He became Managing Partner of A&L Goodbody in 1982 and spent twelve years in that role.

James has served on a number of boards including Bank of Ireland plc, Golden Vale plc, Adare plc, Carrolls Holdings plc and numerous Irish private companies. James currently holds the position of Chairman for Easons, the Centric Health Group and Independent News and Media. 
 

He contributed to the flotation of Ryanair in London, New York, and Dublin and is on the board of Ryanair Holdings. James is a non-executive director of James Hardie Industries N.V.

Nick founded Estate Insurance Group in September 1998 with an idea of delivering prompt, reliable and knowledgeable service to the Property Owners’ Market. Over the years, the company has grown but the fundamental ideals on which it was based remain.

With a strong belief in quality customer service, Nick promotes continued development enabling the team to have a deeper understanding of client needs and concerns. Nick is proud of the team and attributes the company’s success to both them and their clients.

PJ Henehan recently retired as a tax partner in Ernst & Young's Financial Services Group and having been with the firm for over 25 years. With more than two decades of experience in the taxation field, he is a leading expert in structuring financial products for banks, fund management and insurance companies, as well as for high net worth clients.

He was a member of the Ernst & Young Global Financial Services Group, consisting of professionals from such disciplines as tax, structured finance, audit and actuarial services.   PJ lectures regularly on taxation for various professional organisations in Ireland and abroad. He is also the author of numerous articles and booklets for Ernst & Young and its clients. He is a member of the Taoiseach’s Insurance Committee, which advises Government on the development of Ireland as an insurance domicile of choice. He is a Fellow of the Irish Taxation Institute and a Fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants.
